Frequently asked questions

Who are your services for?

MindMap serves individuals of all ages, from preschoolers to college students and adults returning to education, who face challenges in learning, attention, or executive functioning. Whether you're navigating ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences, I provide the support and clarity you need to thrive.

How can a psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation help?

Mindmap evaluations identify your or your child’s unique cognitive strengths, learning styles, and challenges. These insights provide a clear roadmap to tailor interventions, strategies, and accommodations that lead to meaningful academic and personal growth.

How long does the evaluation process take?

The timeline varies depending on the type of evaluation. Typically, the process takes 4-6 weeks from the initial consultation to receiving the final report, including assessment sessions and a follow-up meeting to review results.

Do you accept insurance?

MindMap does not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your coverage for out-of-network services.

How are your services different from school-provided assessments?

School assessments often focus on meeting eligibility criteria for special education. MindMap’s evaluations go deeper, providing a comprehensive understanding of cognitive functioning, learning styles, and actionable strategies that empower families both at school and at home.

Can you help with IEPs or 504 plans?

Yes, I specialize in helping families navigate the special education process, interpret psychoeducational reports, and advocate for appropriate accommodations through IEPs or 504 plans.

Do you offer support for educators and schools?

Yes, I provide training workshops for schools and parent groups on topics such as ADHD, executive dysfunction, and effective interventions. These workshops are designed to equip educators and parents with the tools to help students thrive.

What if I’m unsure about which service is right for me?

I offer a complimentary 50-minute consultation to discuss your concerns and goals. During this session, we’ll determine the best path forward tailored to your needs.

How much do your services cost?

The cost of services varies depending on the type of evaluation, coaching package, or consultation you need. I’ll provide a detailed pricing breakdown during your complimentary consultation to ensure transparency and alignment with your goals. If you have specific questions about pricing before booking, feel free to contact me directly.

What is the process for scheduling an evaluation?

After your initial inquiry, I’ll schedule a complimentary 50-minute intake consultation to discuss your concerns and goals. If MindMap is the right fit, I’ll create a customized plan and schedule assessment or coaching sessions based on your needs and availability.

Do you offer virtual services?

Yes, coaching services are available virtually for clients 12 years and older. For younger children, in-person sessions are preferred unless otherwise agreed upon.

What geographical areas do you serve?

My in-person services are available to clients in San Diego, California and surrounding areas, while virtual coaching and consultation services are accessible nationwide.

What follow-up support do you offer after an evaluation?

I’m happy to provide ongoing access to answer questions, clarify results, and connect with schools or IEP teams to ensure the recommendations are implemented effectively. Additional consultations can also be scheduled as needed.

What coaching services do you provide?

I offer coaching packages tailored to strengthen executive functioning, improve attention, and enhance memory retention. Coaching sessions empower clients to develop practical strategies that support academic and personal success.

Can you provide a diagnosis?

Yes, as part of a comprehensive psychoeducational or neuropsychological evaluation, I can identify and diagnose learning disabilities, ADHD, and other conditions that impact cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning. These evaluations are thorough and designed to provide clear, actionable insights into how these challenges affect daily life.
